  • rpm -Uvh clamav-devel-0.xx.rpm
  • rpm -Uvh clamav-0.xx.rpm
  • rpm -Uvh clamd-0.xx.rpm

Upgrading clamav engine from rpm s

  • rpm -Uvh clamav-db-0.xx.rpm clamav-devel-0.xx.rpm clamav-0.xx.rpm clamd-0.xx.rpm
  • (RichardVinke:) The file "clamd-0.xx.rpm" is not available for fedora5. I am using "rpm -Uvh" without this file. I needed the following post-install actions:
    • Change the ownership of the directory "/var/lib/clamav" to the user as stated in the configuration file.
    • Rename the "/etc/clamd.conf.rpmsave" to "/etc/clamd.conf". Why is the upgrade through "rpm -Uvh" doing this?

You must upgrade the rpms at the same time, otherwise it will result in dependencies of the previous installation
