What I look for in an AntiVirus software

As a Unix user for a year, which accidentally is also the same period of time that I have been completing my thesis, I was always hesitant to install any antivirus software in my laptop in fear that my laptop will slowdown. Have been on the hunt for a reliable anti-virus software which I can use for a longer basis. Most would take it for granted and settle for low-quality software that can either cause a slow down or file corruption. Here is a checklist that can sum up what one needs to consider in picking the right antivirus software.

Ease of use

The emphasis here is the navigation. First time and experienced computer users and should have a confusion-free experience in installing one.

Level of effectiveness

Does it actually what it is supposed to do? Is it able to detect even the faintest computer threats? If the answer is yes, then you have a strong contender in your hands.

List of features

An anti-virus should not only detect viruses but treat them at the same time.
